Teach How to Learn before What to Learn
EFSAP® (Establishing Foundational Skills for Academic Proficiency) is designed to teach the skills for academic learning to young children and students of all ages. The EFSAP® program has been used all over the world since 2008, with success and is now available to purchase in Kit form for families. EFSAP® is one of the few programs that teaches children How to learn, before What to learn.
The goal of this learning product is to help parents, tutors, and nannies, prepare children ages 3-5 for traditional schooling so that they can achieve as expected in their academic studies.
This is about you being confident you have taught the actual foundations for learning to your children. Skills that are so basic, they are not often taught in public school. When skills are missing children become frustrated, anxious, and confused. Following this program gives your children the tools to be able to listen, follow directions, and express themselves appropriately.
We shaped the curriculum to enhance learning skills through short & fun exercises that make learning feel like play.
Each concept is taught and demonstrated by you, then practiced by your children before reinforcement in an activity. The brain learns all together in a dance of synergy, using activities that involve the senses transfers skills from "the classroom" into real life.

- Flexible curriculum means you can break up the lesson into smaller chunks if your day is busy or your children are still learning how to pay attention.

- 3 Levels the first level is concrete and shape based, exploring self, body & environment. In the second level the difference between shapes and letters is explored, includes social engagement activities. In the third level we focus on how to write letters, numbers, and learn discrimination by color, pattern, and size - more details in the product description below.

Thank you again so much for the EFSAP® kit. We love it. The bright colors of all the supplies and combination of are wonderful. We love your poems and stories and all the creativity you put into the program. I use your music CDs all the time and I do think they really help foster a great learning environment. Your hands on directions are very precise and easy to follow. You have very creative activities that Cammie really liked. There were specific activities that she did better with than others - and some that she "modified" and I let her run with. For example since Cammie is 4 years old and even since 3.5 when we really started using the program she knew all her colors, shapes, all her letters and numbers to 20. So some of the exercises that were matching of colors - we went on to do patterns. She loves patterns. I would sent out patterns for her and she would continue them on. We did color patterns with both the magnets and the FE board and the blocks. The creative activities were very fun and Cammie enjoyed things like your creative activities. Loved making the play dough. What I think I liked best about the program was that it helped me learn how to make the most out of our time together and gave me great ideas of how to make creative play and learn at the same time. What really helped make a huge connection for Cammie was using the blocks for addition. I did see huge gains from one week to the next in her ability to make connections and simple reasoning. Your teaching concepts are fantastic and were very easy to follow. The program helped Cammie make connections with what she already knew and expand upon it. We moved from only knowing basic colors to mixing colors and creating new ones. That was fantastic and love the watercolors. Cammie is a very creative child and that really helped her learn new colors in a fun way. The program took her basic shapes knowledge & we learned new shapes such as Pentagons - and were able to "feel" spheres! That was fun. I don't have enough wonderful things to say about your program and all the creativity that is packed into one box. There is no way to use the program and not improve your child's memory and reasoning. It helped me interact more effectively with Cammie. I can tell improvements in her fine motor skills. You put breaks in the right spots for little attention spans - but the activities are so fun that you don't really loose their attention that often.
Where I went wrong.. or problems that I had were only this. First - Kendall was too young during the entire time I've had the program up until now - where I had a hard time keeping her out of the chokeables. She really really wanted the cubes and the magnets and I had to keep them out of her reach - which made Kendall scream and Cammie would in turn not focus. Kendall still puts everything in her mouth so I had to be very careful and really only was able to use the program with Cammie when Kendall was napping. Since my children unfortunately are in daycare during the day - we were able to use mostly on the weekends so the structure of doing 4 days with review on the 5th day did not really work for me as I was not able to do 4 days consecutively. I think it would be best with a full time stay at home mother. (which I wish I was....) With both kids getting home at 5 pm and bed time at 8:30 - bath and dinner taking up a lot of that time - I really did not want to do that much structured learning with such little time with them. If you can tell - I have a lot of guilt feelings not having that much time with them. We would pull a lot of your activities - fun creative activities and cooking during the week. We love your recipes and making play dough!! I had no idea there were that many types of play dough and Cammie loves it. I did have once incident - as Cammie always wants to get into the EFSAP® box - and I always have it out of reach so that Kendall can't get into it - where Cammie got on a chair in the kitchen and opened the box - she used a sharpie on the white erase board - so we had to get a new erase board. I'm sorry about that. But needless to say - Cammie wanted to use the program all the time. I still feel that although we did not use the program as structured as designed - Cammie make leaps and bounds of progress in understanding concepts such as her directions, vertical, horizontal, diagonal, etc.
I really am amazed at your creativity with the program - your songs and poems - your activities that really keep their attention and keep things moving so they never loose interest. She has really expanded upon several concepts. I do only wish that I could use the program every day - but I do use a lot of your activities on a daily basis just in interacting with them. We do the color game in the car with what they are wearing and she'll say, "pink, pink, pink, pink, Kendall is wearing pink today," (that one really stuck and she often tells me what colors people wore that day at school). Mainly - using so many techniques and parts of the brain to learn concepts really helped Cammie learn quickly and make connections. Being able to see, touch, hear and use her little body to move while learning is an amazing way to quickly commit to memory what she is learning.
Thank you so much for sharing the program with me and I'm excited to use with Kendall as well - and continue with Cammie. Please let me know if there are any specifics that you need to know from me and I hope my feedback is helpful.
Lots of love to you and thank you again for your patience with me and for this wonderful program.

I have been working with your program since you introduced it to our area and I am amazed and delighted with it and what it is doing to broaden language, promote sequencing, extend focus, and promote curiosity in my grandson. He was a very picky eater before we began. He now looks at new foods and says, "Hmmm, this looks interesting." He then goes on to guess what it might taste like before eating it. He tells us all about its color and texture and whether he finds it tasty or not. We don't hear comments about not wanting to eat it or being too full to eat. Being able to talk him through drawing with words of direction will make it easier for him to form his letters and numbers with correct strokes and keep his writing fluid. Brian's Back has been wonderful! We use it at the dinner table, when reading books, and when I give him instructions, as well. He loves FE! When we first began he would duplicate my movements but not necessarily the colors. Now he is excited to play with FE, and is proud to know what to do next in the sequencing. He is still working towards three on concentration, but doing better with one second per color. Sometimes I hear him saying, "Hmmm, I wonder what FE would do if he saw this?" when he is playing by himself Thank You EFSAP®!
